Day 1: Very First Anime
Well, as a kid I probably watched a lot more anime than I realized at the time, but the first one that really grabbed my attention was Sailor Moon, naturally!
I was mostly enthralled with the relationship of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask *swoon*. I also loved the comical relationship between Usagi and Luna. I always watched it whenever I could! Just to prove I'm as dorky as I say, here's me in high school apparently forcing my friends to pose in Sailor Moon pose. ;)
I'm the finger pointing lunatic in the photo. :D
I'd love to hear if anyone remembers their favorite anime cartoon from childhood or just the first anime you watched. Share it here! :D You most likely have one even if you don't know it! They creep up on you like that. See you all tomorrow!
Random rantings of a senile 30 something who's still a kid at heart. Music,Art, Crafting, Animals. I better get it all down now before I forget tomorrow!

Fun Times: 8 Bit Treasury
Hey all, long time no see. :) It's been a busy week still looking for just the right new job for new me. ( New hair, new nail polish, the works LOL). Also been working on some custom pet beds for customers. Yay! Thought I'd check in and show you all my newest treasury for the heck of it. I was listening to Perfume (when am I not listening to Perfume LOL) and one of the 8-bit versions came on so that's waht inspired this treasury. It's filled with nerdly goodness. Enjoy!

Moving Forward: Hidden Treasures
Hello all. :D This blog entry is long overdue indeed. Lately some of my teams have been talking about promoting the unseen artists of Etsy and I for sure want to do the same. And on occasion I'd like to go outside of Etsy and promote other artists that deserve some cred as well. I will be doing some My Favorite Things blogs for more popular shops, but Hidden Treasures will be for exactly that. I'll be focused on shops with 25 sales or less that have been around for a while that I wish had some more exposure :D So here we go!
First up is Pinkiipromise! I have had her on my favorites since finding her. The custom anime drawings she does is a unique idea.

I think it would be really favored at conventions for sure. I also love how she does little illustrations for her clay figures. Ack! Cuteness!

Next is Hello Bunny's Painting Shop This another artist that is on my favorites on Etsy. She does a variety of watercolor paintings of animals, but of course my favorites are the pandas, since I'm Amanda Panda and all. LOL

She's fairly new on Etsy but I'm really quite surprised that she qualified in the sales category cause if I could afford it I would have bought her out already! Love Love Love. :D
And lastly, I'm choosing The Hen and Her Chicks. Maybe cause I'm hungry. LOL Actually one of the things I've really grown to love on Etsy is soap. Soap that looks and smells like food specifically. And it's really quite popular actually; I'm actually a little jealous that I hadn't jumped onto that bandwagon! :D

This looks good enough to eat, and one thing I've come to appreciate (as I do a lot of dirty jobs) is a fine smellin' soap!
You can click on the pics to get to the direct listings. So hopefully you all will like what you see here, and show some love for these great shops.
I'll be back to show you some more hidden treasures soon!
Note: all photographs were used with sellers permission. Any copyrights are theirs and images are not to be used outside of the scope of this blog or by anyone other than the seller. Thanks!

Pit Stop: On My Mind
Just some random thoughts today :D
I'm working on more crochet eggs today and over the weekend. Also I plan on making more pet houses too! Yay :D I'll have lots of new pictures by Monday. I'm still working on the Tunisian crochet, I actually started two of those at once and I'll get back to them, I promise. You're not totally into crochet if you're not working on at least 3 different projects at a given time, am I right? LOL
Also, my friend
Candy Graphics is officially working on the banner and logo for the Etsy group I am in, For the love of small animals. I'm so excited to see what she comes up with and to share it with all of you. I'm working on some interview questions to ask some of our members, specifically about small animal rescue as this will be the topic of our first blog. :D Feel free to give me suggestions if this is a topic that interests you. :D
And lastly, have I been living under a rock or something?! I am always checking the Oricon charts and when they updated this week, I found the best song!
The singer is Yuki Isoya and she has such a unique voice. It's really an acquired taste I suppose but, I can't count how many times I've listened to this song already. She's had a solo career for a long time. I'm sure I've heard her before in passing but nothing ever latched on. Before her solo career she was in a group called Judy & Mary among other things, but fun factoid is that she was in a group with Kate Pierson from the B52's called Nina. She does sing in English on the album. I listened to it and it's pretty darn good. Her voice goes really well with Kate's believe it or not. I always get excited over new music. Yay!
And that's pretty much all the fun stuff for today. Til next time, Gadget! :D

BLOG CONTEST WINNER!
Hey all! Just wanted to stop in and announce my first blog contest winner. It's Kristal@QuirkyEssentials. I used Fruit Picker to decide the winner so it was totally at random. In the future I may have "entries" instead. I'm not one to put the sales tactics pressure on or anything though, so you don't have to expect that from me. Anyhooze, Quirky Essentials is Kristal's blog. I checked it out myself and am following. If you need tips on formating your blog or like re-purposing older items then please do check her out. Also, here is her shop:QuirkyEssentials Etsy Shop :D

Thanks for everyone that took the time to leave me feedback and love for the blog and Facebook. I love all of your shops and blogs as well! You can definitely look forward to more contests in the future. It's much appreciated and I'm taking the suggestions of opening a second shop to heart. I want to make sure I have plenty of time for my blog(s) and groups and all that, but I'll get there eventually.
I've kind of had a lack of posts lately. I'm going to try and be more active on the blog circuit. It's been such a crazy week. Especially this morning. I'd tell you all about it, but I'd probably have to go into the witness protection program or something ( Seriously. It was that crazy!). Til next time!

Pit Stop: Guilty Pleasures
Ok, well I just totally have to geek out a little bit. People that know me may be surprised to know that I am an uber Michelle Phan fan. I consider myself a bit tomboyish I guess I would say,and I very rarely wear makeup anymore. In my younger days I was always experimenting with color and finding wild ways to do my lips, cheeks and eyes. I would consider myself very unique in my style back in the day. ( Someday I may find some pictures to prove it LOL). In the very off chance that you've never heard of her, she has been on YouTube since 2006 and has slowly become the number one makeup guru on said site. The dedication to her videos earned her a job working for Lancome, and she has since been on Seventeen magazine, done fashion shows, and appeared on television among other accomplishments. Her videos are well organized, her tips are sound, and her looks flawless; but the real reason I just adore her is the music she uses for her videos. Artists like Samantha James, music from anime and Final Fantasy games (fellow nerd-dom yes!), and only one of the best female singers from Japan ever, Mika Nakashima! And if anybody has seen her cosplay you might be like, yeah I can totally get into that. LOL She has done a lot to raise money for various charities via her RiceBunny channel on YouTube, and each view to her site equals more donations. Recently she donated $1000 dollars to Japan Relief due to receiving 1 million views of this video. This was a match from the original $1000 she donated from her RiceBunny channel for other charities. ( Music by the great Mika-san!)
Urg. I can't even watch a makeup video with that song in it without tearing up? LOL! The look is simple and pretty so if you are a total girly girl ;) looking for a polished look for an interview or going out on the town, check her out. I'm sure the girl doesn't need any help from me, but I just love this video and wanted to share it. Enjoy!
